Our designs are unique responses to every client and reflect the particular project’s set of requirements. Each of our projects are designed specific to the current needs in adult care and the owner’s particular needs. Careful attention is paid to understanding the project’s history, current program, care philosophy, and future needs expectations of each client and care facility. Our design philosophy has always centered on “providing a sense of dignity” for the residents of our projects. Both the project issues, as we understand them, and our design approach compliment each other as follows:

A. DESIGN APPROACH

Master planning a well-thought out and integrated campus-like setting is a very familiar task for us. Whether your preference is “single” or “continuum” care, we recommend projects to be holistically viewed as a campus entity. Envisioning both building and surrounding landscape as essential to the facilities mission, F.F.A.E. strives to capitalize on all spatial opportunities. To this end, we continually advise providers to consider layouts that are flexible and expandable, thereby arriving at a design that is responsive and easily adaptable to the ever-changing health care environment. F.F.A.E. also encourages designs that foster a “home-like” environment, with a distinct “sense of place” through residentially–scaled architecture.

B. ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SERVICES

The provision of Architectural and Engineering services, from schematic design through construction administration, is where our firm’s cumulative experience of over 150 years stands to benefit your project. Our reputation has been built upon our commitment to provide full and personal attention from inception of the project to its closeout. We continually keep at least one principal and the same design team members involved from beginning to end, thereby retaining consistency throughout each project. This is reflected in the close relationships we have developed over the years with our repeat clientele.

C. EXISTING PHYSICAL PLANT OPTIONS

Developing Feasibility Studies of existing facility’s adaptive reuse will capitalize on our planning strengths. Early in the performance programming stage of the project, we uncover and investigate the project’s future marketing goals to tailor our design and better facilitate these goals. We have assisted our clients in the realization of such “Eden” based goals as dignified Alzheimer/Dementia Units complete with pacing loops and sensory gardens. Our previous efforts in designing Adult Day Care and Respite facilities will also serve to your project’s benefit. We have gained much design insight in providing Physical and Occupational Therapy facilities that are complete with Activities for Daily Living Suites (A.D.L.) to provide for both inpatient and outpatient sub-acute services.

D. C.O.N. SUBMISSIONS

Should your project have the need for C.O.N. submissions to the NYS Department of Health, our firm can assist with preparation of the various required schedules, including the project’s narrative and the required correspondence and coordination with all the appropriate entities.

Our past experience with over 30 full and 50 limited C.O.N. submissions has resulted in successfully approved applications, due in part to the good working relationship F.F.A.E. Architects has maintained with the Department of Health, since the firm's inception.

We are confident that we can provide the full, personal and seasoned services you are looking for to assist you in reaching your goals. We look forward to the opportunity of joining this team and seeing your project to fruition.
